Remember when we were teenagers and people would ask us, “What do you want to do with the rest of your life?” I didn’t know. Who wants to pick the “thing” they are stuck with for 45 years of work, same thing, day after day, forever? Especially after we’ve been taught to make the grade, do as we’re told, be formed by the same mold, fit in, have the same basic skills and talent.

How does one really know who they are at that point?
I don’t believe that is how we should operate. I knew that deep down, but didn’t figure it out consciously until I found out I had the supposedly “incurable” Lyme disease. With a family and too much to live and love for, “incurable” wasn’t an option. Status quo wasn’t acceptable. I wasn’t going to be amongst those who didn’t find their answer. I found it. Those of you with extra tenacity understand. (Or, call us stubborn.)

That chapter led to my PhD in Natural Medicine and working with others who needed guidance in alternative & complementary ways to help themselves. I’ve been a traditional naturopath since 2013.

But I found a phenomena of which you are innately aware: people literally stop their progress with subconscious programming. Memories, messages, beliefs playing under the radar make or break the ability to hit any goal — health, self-improvement, relationship, business. It was causing them to be stagnant despite big effort to shift and improve.

I don’t settle for just knowing there’s a problem. I want an answer. So I found it. To our delight, my clients all found such big changes so quickly they could literally feel the underlying messages held inside them lifting. They could think more clearly, more creatively, they didn’t default to the same emotions, they stopped procrastinating and started taking the better actions toward their goals. Their breathing came easier, their bodies relaxed, their faces began smiling more naturally and with less stress.

And they succeeded.

Why?

They were discovering who they really were inside. They were releasing the expectations imposed upon them. They were finding the journey came so much easier without hauling unnecessary old baggage with them. Their body, mind, and spirit became increasingly harmonious.

They stopped automatically trying to fit the mold they were told they should fit and they started being fearlessly and comfortably themselves.

So did I.

Being fearlessly and comfortably yourself should not take effort. It should come naturally. It is how you were created to be. And how you were created to be will always bring about more joy and success than staying in old ways.

I spent those first 6 years of running my business trying to do it the standard way. Charge this, work these long hours, try to network, tweak your brand, figure it out, invest back into your business… things that should work, but didn’t. I hardly brought a thing home. I loved my work, I loved my clients, I was doing all the things… They didn’t work because I was trying to do things the way others do things. I was not embracing my own way enough. I was still in “make the grade” mode.

By taking the time and effort to release the inner messaging that was holding me back, I changed the entire trajectory of my life and business. Just like my clients were subconsciously holding back their progress in so many ways, my business was reflecting the same. I needed to change the old hidden messages in my training up so that I could think, feel, and do as needed.

My business shifted massively, quadrupling my net income from 2018 to 2019. My process became simpler and increasingly scalable. My mind was able to manage more with much less stress. I discovered gifts I didn’t know I had. My heart loved the direction even more than before. My clients saw more massive shifts than in the prior years. Referrals became the main stream of new clientele.

As you know, as a coach or entrepreneur, your life and your business are entwined. If you can see either piece not evolving and moving forward, then the problem is not in the strategy, mindset, or strength of effort you’re putting forth. It is in what comes before all of that — the problem is hidden in you and needs to be quickly unveiled and dealt with.
